Anecdotal evidence shows once-off exposure seems to have no lasting effects at all.
It is not known where these devices originated, nor who manufactures them. What we do know is they tend to land up in criminal hands. Scallywags have been seen with them on several occasions, Ms. Woodhouse has used one, and Devil-Cat is believed to have one of them, although he has not been recorded using it in combat.
