Kite Festival
The Kite Festival is an annual event at Swedhump Elementary. The entire school assembles on the mound and flies kites. It is a fantastic event, and there are tons of prizes.
The prizes cover most kites a person could bring: Fastest, Slowest, Smallest, Weirdest, Most Interesting, Biggest, Ugliest, and Funniest. Every prize except first is handed out by Mrs. Rosebank.
Proceedings are run by the Kite-Meister, Mr. K., who opens the festival from the Official Festival Declaration Corpuscle Empodium, judges the entries, and awards the NSPGTFMEKE.
One year the whole thing was held with napkins for kites. The winner was a hamster-shaped kite built by Dash, Greta, Ellen and Rob, and ridden by Hompas the Heroic.
