Echo Magnet
A small, VERY powerful magnet. So powerful that one the size of a golf ball can lift a bus - no problem. And the bus can be full. A single magnet will lift a car.
They are like normal magnets, but with an inbuilt "echo" mechanism that increases the strength by a factor of 1,000. So they are 1,000 times stronger than normal magnets.
Because they are so powerful, extreme care needs to be taken when manufacturing them. The Hansen & Johnson factory (where they are made) has a special controlled room in which they are put together.
No completed magnet may leave the room unless it is in a 300% magnet proof holster.
An employee, Cyril Gurkk, once left the controlled room with an echo magnet in his briefcase, by mistake. It had actually just rolled in there and he hadn't noticed.
The moment he left the room his briefcase got sucked out of his arm and attached itself to a passing car.
This would have been okay, but his 20th anniversary present for his wife was in the suitcase. And it was gone forever. That night at dinner, she was furious when he didn't have a present. And she didn't believe his excuse. They got divorced a week later.
We told you these magnets were dangerous!
At Swedhump Elementary they are kept in a special super-safe Magnet Storage Unit, and with good reason.
