Camp Goodacre raft race

The Camp Goodacre raft race is an inter-cabin contest run over four races. All eight rafts start together in Race 1. Only the fastest four go through to Race 2, then two to Race 3. The winner of Race 3 takes on Camp Footmold in The Final.

The rules are strict. You build your raft using only the workshop equipment provided, though tarps are allowed, since everyone was given one. Each camper is issued exactly one official Goodacre Racing Paddle. Before every race there is a paddle inspection, to make sure no sneaky business has happened.

The rafts reach the water by an unusual route. From the workshops they travel to the starting pens through underground watery tunnels; you press a descend button and down you go. The pen area holds the Starting Pens, an audience platform, Mr. Goodacre's inspection platform, and eight raft workshops. From there the course runs to a first mark, then a second mark, then the finish line.

Rafts are moved from the workshops to the starting pens via underground watery tunnels by pressing a descend button.

I pushed the descend button, and down we went... ...down, down down, into a tunnel below. A watery tunnel! Then across to the starting pen. b13:c07:p144 b13:c07:p145

Rafts must use only workshop equipment provided to build the rafts; tarps are permissible as they were provided to everyone.

Rule #15c says: "Only workshop equipment provided to build the rafts may be used". And everyone had a tarp. So the tarp is permissible! b13:c19:p367
