Zap-Flattener trial testing leaves employee Horatio Nomrodd permanently flat

i_al1_24 Almanac (al1)

What happened

During trial testing of Rajak Industries' mass-market Zap-Flattener, an employee Horatio Nomrodd got zapped during routine testing. After 60 seconds he remained flat due to a problem with the timing algorithm, and no matter what they did they could not get him to unflatten. He was rushed to the local hospital and put in a bed. During a shift change, a new nurse thought his bed was unoccupied and placed a new patient (described as a very large man) in the bed on top of him. Horatio spent the night trapped under the new patient.

Resolution

At sunrise the old nurse rescued Horatio Nomrodd and called Mr. Rosebank, who as inventor knew how to un-flatten him. Rajak Industries gave Horatio $100,000 and two weeks off. He wrote a bestselling book about the ordeal and a movie deal followed.
